Indiana Pacers defeat Detroit Pistons

Pacers win 97-82 to improve to 11-7

Elden Campbell scores 22 points to lead the way

The Indiana Pacers continued to roll at home Monday night, defeating the Detroit Pistons 97-82 to improve to 11-7 on the season. Elden Campbell was one of three Pacers to score in double figures, finishing with a game-high 22 points.

The Pacers were in control of the game from the start, leading by 10 points after the first quarter and 16 at the half. The Pistons cut the deficit to 10 in the third quarter, but the Pacers responded with a 10-0 run to put the game away.

Antonio McDyess scored 18 points for the Pacers, while Ron Artest added 17 points and 9 rebounds. Richard Hamilton, Chauncey Billups and Tayshaun Prince each scored 17 points for the Pistons.

With the win, the Pacers extended their home winning streak to five games and improved to 6-2 in their last eight games. The Pistons have lost two straight and are now 5-9 on the season.

The Pacers will return to action on Wednesday night when they host the New York Knicks. The Pistons will return to action on Tuesday night when they host the Minnesota Timberwolves.
