John Bennett resigns as chairman of Rangers
Bennett, who has been in the role since 2015, will step down from his position with immediate effect.
No reason has been given for his departure, but it is understood that he has been under pressure from some fans in recent months following a series of poor results on the pitch.
The Ibrox club are currently fourth in the Scottish Premiership, 19 points behind leaders Celtic.
They were also knocked out of the Scottish Cup by Hearts in the quarter-finals last month.
Bennett's departure comes just a week after Rangers announced that they had made a loss of £23.5 million in the year to June 2022.
The club's financial problems have been well-documented in recent months, and it is believed that Bennett's resignation could be a sign that the board is looking to make changes.
It is not yet known who will replace Bennett as chairman, but it is expected that the club will make an announcement in the coming days.
Rangers are due to play their next match on Saturday when they host Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership.
